Today we're spotlighting Matt Ellsworth—our Lead Project Manager who'd rather be mentoring the team, perfecting processes, or hiking with his pup Alma than talking about himself. But his contributions to Skycastle deserve recognition.
His journey into luxury construction is anything but traditional. He cut his teeth managing a rock climbing wall project at a resort in Costa Rica, refined his craft doing stonework on backcountry trail crews, and literally tested his limits on a cell tower repair crew (spoiler: he's not a fan of heights, but he conquered them anyway).
After years managing commercial remodels, Matt found his calling with Skycastle—where his passion for sustainability, meticulous attention to detail, and collaborative approach align perfectly with our commitment to building beautiful, eco-luxury homes in Boulder County.
While Matt prefers to let his work do the talking, his impact shines through every project, every process improvement, and every team member he mentors. He's the kind of leader who elevates everyone around him—quietly, consistently, and with genuine care.
Matt brings the same dedication to our clients that he brings to Colorado's trails—where you'll find him hiking, climbing, or practicing yoga during his free time. And if you're lucky, you might meet his co-pilot, Alma, a four-legged team member who's passionate about belly rubs, treats, and occasionally supervising job sites.
At Skycastle, we believe exceptional homes are built by exceptional people. Matt embodies the integrity, innovation, and expertise that define everything we do.
Matt is constantly working to improve his skills and understanding of Building Science—he recently achieved Passive House Tradesperson certification. In addition to his projects at Skycastle, Matt serves on the Board of the Colorado Green Building Guild, where he helps bring education and advocacy around green building to the public and the profession.
