Brandon David

BRANDON DAVID, PRESIDENT

Brandon David, LEED AP, is the President of Skycastle Construction. He has over 25 years of hands-on experience in residential and commercial building in the Rocky Mountain area. After moving to Boulder in 1999, he worked as a lead for a high-end custom green home builder until 2006, when he joined Skycastle Construction. His passion for design/build has led to a career in architecture, where he uses his broad construction expertise to create high quality, thoughtfully-crafted buildings. He brings an impeccable level of personal integrity and calm, clear communication to the process. Brandon worked on the National Champion C.U. Solar Decathlon project. He received his B.S. in Architecture with Honors from the University of Utah in 1999 and a Bachelors of Environmental Design with Honors from the University of Colorado in 2004. He is the proud father of three young children and loves having adventures with his wife and family.



Scott Rodwin

SCOTT RODWIN, CEO

Scott Rodwin, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB is the CEO of Skycastle Construction and the Principal of Rodwin Architecture . He is the 2025 President of the American Institute of Architects of Colorado and is a former President of the Colorado Green Building Guild. Scott was named the 2006 “Young Architect of the Year” by the AIA for the Western Mountain Region, and he and his firm are the recipients of over 60 local, national and international awards for sustainable design excellence and community service. He has been a leader in the green building field for over 30 years, and has taught residential green building for Boulder, the American Institute of Architects, USGBC, the Colorado Green Building Guild and Naropa University. Scott’s love of the Architect-led design/build process began while he was working as a framer on construction sites in college. He received his architectural degree from Cornell University in 1991.



Matt Ellsworth

MATT ELLSWORTH

Matt Ellsworth is a Lead Project Manager with Skycastle Construction. He started his career in construction as project manager for a rock climbing wall at a resort in Costa Rica. From there he dabbled in stonework on a backcountry trail crew and tested his sensitivity to heights on a cell tower repair crew. Since then, he has worked as a PM for commercial remodels and now enjoys helping build beautiful, sustainable homes in Boulder County. Matt is an avid hiker, yogi, and climber, and can usually be found on Colorado’s trails during free time. He’s a proud dog dad and is often accompanied by his canine companion, Alma, who is passionate about belly rubs and treats.



Mallory Zentner

KELLIE NORMAN

Kellie is a Custom Home Project Manager with over 15 years of experience in high-end residential and light commercial construction. Early in her career, she worked closely with clients to design semi-custom homes, guiding them through the full material selection process, building a strong foundation in both design coordination and client experience. After a brief time away from Skycastle Construction to travel and spend meaningful time with family, Kellie is excited to return to the team and the work she loves. During her time away, she also earned her real estate license, further deepening her understanding of the entire home-buying process. Outside of work, she enjoys biking, baking sourdough, and hiking in the beautiful Colorado mountains that have long felt like home.

BRYAN BENEDICT

Bryan Benedict is a Project Manager with Skycastle Construction who's spent over a decade in the construction world—eight of those years dedicated to crafting high-quality custom homes. His journey through project coordination, client relations, and hands-on site management has given him a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and the kind of details that make a house truly special. When he's not orchestrating builds, Bryan can be found golfing, exploring new destinations with his wife and two young kids, or mastering the art of toddler negotiations—arguably his most challenging project management work to date. He's a proud dad who believes the best adventures are the ones you share with family.



Jeff Medanich

JEFF MEDANICH

Jeff Medanich, LEED AP, is a Site Supervisor with Skycastle Construction and has over 40 years experience in the residential field. Jeff got his first job as a carpenter’s apprentice while in high school and has been in the business ever since. He owned and operated a remodeling company specializing in high end older homes for fifteen years, then spent the next fifteen years supervising the construction of hundreds of homes, concentrating on resiliency and energy efficiency. He then returned to his love of older homes and spent many years directing preservation and resiliency for a National Historic Landmark, the Colorado Chautauqua Association. Jeff was inducted in the Colorado Green Built Hall of Fame in 2004 and received a life time achievement award for his work in historic preservation.



Michael Hupp

MICHAEL HUPP

Michael Hupp is a Site Supervisor with Skycastle Construction and has over 27 years of experience in the construction industry. He specializes in interior woodworking, and has a small wood shop where he enjoys building custom pieces when he has the time. Michael grew up in Montana and he moved to Colorado in 1989. He has been married for over 25 years and shares his home with furry four-legged friends. Michael enjoys many outdoor adventures, such as, rafting, fly fishing, camping and all things tropical.



Duane Harrison

DUANE HARRISON

Duane Harrison is a Site Supervisor at Skycastle Construction with over 11 years of experience in the construction industry. With a BS degree from CSU in Landscape Design and Construction and a Construction Management minor, he brings a wide array of experience to each of his projects. As a native Coloradan he enjoys the Rocky Mountains, gardening, and carpentry.



Dave Monsees

DAVE MONSEES

Dave Monsees is a Site Supervisor with Skycastle Construction, and a Colorado native. He is a proud Veteran of the US Navy Seebees, and has 39 years in the building trade. Dave has generally worked all across the Front Range, but has also been involved in projects from Aspen, Glenwood and Grand Junction to Utah and Wyoming. When not on the jobsite, he spends as much time travelling as possible - he is up to 38 states so far! - and loves heading to the mountains camping and fishing with his wife of 40+ years, and his puppies.

PAUL HELLER

Paul Heller is a Site Supervisor with Skycastle Construction, bringing over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. His background spans carpentry, project management, and architectural design. He holds a degree in Architecture from the California College of the Arts. He has led the design of projects ranging from single-family homes to ski resort complexes and previously owned and operated a firm specializing in high-end residential design. His passion for construction lies in the act of making, working with wood, steel, and stone to create elegant, enduring spaces. Outside of work, he enjoys escaping to the mountains with his wife of over 30 years and their dogs for off-roading, camping, and hiking, and usually catches more branches than fish.

Mel Rose is the Director of Operations, Marketing, and Client Excellence, with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Her career includes executive leadership at Forbes Five-Star, Five-Diamond resorts, where she played a key role in achieving and maintaining five-star status—a testament to her high standards, precision, and commitment to excellence. Mel brings a rare blend of operational insight, creative thinking, and client-centered strategy to every project she leads. She has a proven track record of optimizing internal systems, elevating brand visibility, and crafting seamless, high-touch client experiences. Known for her integrity, clarity, and attention to detail, Mel thrives in fast-paced, high-expectation environments. She is driven by a deep curiosity and a desire to make every process more efficient, effective, and meaningful. Passionate about quality and people in equal measure, she approaches every challenge with decisiveness, artistry, and a focus on long-term impact. Mel and her husband have lived their adventure-filled life in Colorado for the past five years and are kept active by their two spirited dogs—a heeler and a chihuahua.



Manuela Palma

MANUELA PALMA

Manuela Palma is Brandon’s Executive Assistant and Accounting Coordinator for Skycastle Construction. Born and raised in Italy, Manuela has been a Boulder resident for over 25 years. She holds a degree in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano and has extensive experience architectural historic preservation and in archaeological excavations.

Outside of work, Manuela practices kickboxing and Muay Thai. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband and two college-age children.



Mallory Zentner

MALLORY ZENTNER

Mallory joined the Rodwin Architecture & Skycastle Construction team as a bookkeeper in 2025. Originally from Georgia, she moved to Colorado in 2003 to attend the University of Colorado Boulder, where she earned a degree in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. With over a dozen years of experience supporting small business owners with their finances, Mallory brings a thoughtful, organized approach to her work. Outside the office, she stays busy as a wife and mom of three, and enjoys exercising, reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors.
