Brandon David, LEED AP, is the President of Skycastle Construction. He has over 25 years of hands-on experience in residential and commercial building in the Rocky Mountain area. After moving to Boulder in 1999, he worked as a lead for a high-end custom green home builder until 2006, when he joined Skycastle Construction. His passion for design/build has led to a career in architecture, where he uses his broad construction expertise to create high quality, thoughtfully-crafted buildings. He brings an impeccable level of personal integrity and calm, clear communication to the process. Brandon worked on the National Champion C.U. Solar Decathlon project. He received his B.S. in Architecture with Honors from the University of Utah in 1999 and a Bachelors of Environmental Design with Honors from the University of Colorado in 2004. He is the proud father of three young children and loves having adventures with his wife and family.
Scott Rodwin, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB is the CEO of Skycastle Construction and Principal of Rodwin Architecture. He was named the 2006 “Young Architect of the Year” by the AIA for the Western Mountain Region, and was one of Colorado Construction’s 2009 Top 20 Under 40. He has been a leader in the green building field for twenty five years, and has won more than two dozen local and national sustainable design awards. Scott has taught residential green building for the City of Boulder, the American Institute of Architects, USGBC, the Colorado Green Building Guild and currently teaches Green Building at Naropa University. Scott’s love of the Architect-led design/build process began while he was working as a framer on construction sites in college. He received his architectural degree from Cornell University in 1991.
Matt Ellsworth is a Project Manager with Skycastle Construction. He started his career in construction as project manager for a rock climbing wall at a resort in Costa Rica. From there he dabbled in stonework on a backcountry trail crew and tested his sensitivity to heights on a cell tower repair crew. Since then, he has worked as a PM for commercial remodels and now enjoys helping build beautiful, sustainable homes in Boulder County. Matt is an avid hiker, yogi, and climber, and can usually be found on Colorado’s trails during free time. He’s a proud dog dad and is often accompanied by his canine companion, Alma, who is passionate about belly rubs and treats.
Liana Greenberg is a Project Manager at Skycastle Construction. Having developed a love for Colorado and sustainability during her time studying Environmental Science at CU Boulder, Liana is happy to be back working in the Boulder valley in custom green homebuilding. She has over seven years of experience managing commercial, multi-family, and residential construction projects. When not skiing, backpacking, or otherwise escaping city life in the Rocky Mountains, she enjoys gathering with family and friends to play tabletop games or collaborate on art projects. Liana shares her home with her husband and a menagerie of plants and animals including an adorable cat, a surly lizard, frogs, and fish.
Art Littlefield is a Business Development Manager & Project Coordinator with Skycastle Construction. After spending time in the corporate world, he traded his business suit for work boots. He began to offer custom furniture and handyman services to the local Boulder area, and with 5 years of carpentry experience, his ambitions grew to building high-performance, green custom homes. Being a Florida native, Art loves to take advantage of the outdoors - rock climbing, fishing, and surfing are some of his favorite activities. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and pup.
Michael Hupp is a Site Supervisor with Skycastle Construction and has over 27 years of experience in the construction industry. He specializes in interior woodworking, and has a small wood shop where he enjoys building custom pieces when he has the time. Michael grew up in Montana and he moved to Colorado in 1989. He has been married for over 25 years and shares his home with furry four-legged friends. Michael enjoys many outdoor adventures, such as, rafting, fly fishing, camping and all things tropical.
Duane Harrison is a Site Supervisor at Skycastle Construction with over 11 years of experience in the construction industry. With a BS degree from CSU in Landscape Design and Construction and a Construction Management minor, he brings a wide array of experience to each of his projects. As a native Coloradan he enjoys the Rocky Mountains, gardening, and carpentry.
Todd Waln is a Site Supervisor at Skycastle Construction with over 26 years construction management experience. He has worked in every trade throughout custom home construction and high end commercial/residential construction. Todd is a USMC veteran who served from 1994 to 1998 and was recalled back to active service after the 9/11 attacks. He enjoys painting, sketching, sculpting, photography, metal sculpting, mix media art, woodworking, fitness, hiking, boating, biking, camping, reading, writing, animal rescue, and spending time with his family.
Dave Monsees is a Site Supervisor with Skycastle Construction, and a Colorado native. He is a proud Veteran of the US Navy Seebees, and has 39 years in the building trade. Dave has generally worked all across the Front Range, but has also been involved in projects from Aspen, Glenwood and Grand Junction to Utah and Wyoming. When not on the jobsite, he spends as much time travelling as possible - he is up to 38 states so far! - and loves heading to the mountains camping and fishing with his wife of 40+ years, and his puppies.
Jeff Medanich, LEED AP, is a Site Supervisor with Skycastle Construction and has over 40 years experience in the residential field. Jeff got his first job as a carpenter’s apprentice while in high school and has been in the business ever since. He owned and operated a remodeling company specializing in high end older homes for fifteen years, then spent the next fifteen years supervising the construction of hundreds of homes, concentrating on resiliency and energy efficiency. He then returned to his love of older homes and spent many years directing preservation and resiliency for a National Historic Landmark, the Colorado Chautauqua Association. Jeff was inducted in the Colorado Green Built Hall of Fame in 2004 and received a life time achievement award for his work in historic preservation.
Tim Anderson joined the Skycastle team as a Site Supervisor with over 20 years of project management experience in the home building industry - ranging from single family communities to luxury custom homes. Tim was also part of a prototype ABC Green Home featured in ‘Green Builders’ magazine for Southern California Edison. Tim enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife of 33 years, two kids and his two miniature schnauzers. Tim’s passions are old Volkswagens and collecting Breweriana.
Manuela Palma is an accounting coordinator for Skycastle Construction. Born and raised in Italy, Manuela has been a Boulder resident for over 20 years. She has an architectural degree from the Politecnico of Milan and many years of archeological excavations and architectural historic preservation. When not working, Manuela practices karate and kickboxing. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband and two teenage children.
Catherine Rust is a Project Manager at Skycastle Construction. She has experience overseeing all manner of construction projects, from custom and production homes, to commercial projects and tenant finishes, and even ski-in/ski-out accommodation in the mountains (Trail Head Lodge in Steamboat). Being a well-rounded construction manager, she thrives on successful collaboration and the importance of partnerships, and radiates a sincere passion for delivery of value and benefits to the client. Whether it’s strategic planning, operations, alliance building, or customer relations, Catherine prides herself on driving results and tackles it all with friendly enthusiasm. Originally from Kansa, she has long considered herself a Colorado native, and in her spare time loves spending time with a grown son and daughter-in- law and her three grandchildren. Catherine has built most of her own furniture and enjoys gardening and baking - depending on the weather.
